Baiana Heritage is a painting that honours the strong African women who were brought to Brasil as slaves. Over time, many of them gained their freedom by selling acarajé, a traditional food. 

The painting shows a mix of African and Brasilian culture. It tells the story of these brave women, their strength, and how they helped shape Brasil’s culture while keeping their African roots alive.
