Sustainability Through Art

At Studio A.W., sustainability is at the heart of every creative decision. Our practice is rooted in eco-friendly art, using natural inks, recycled materials, and mindful processes to reduce environmental impact.

Inspired by nature and the urgent need to protect it, each artwork becomes a reflection of biodiversity, climate awareness, and responsible making. We believe art should not only express beauty, but also encourage a deeper connection with the environment and a more sustainable way of living.

Our Approach

Eco-Friendly Materials: We carefully source eco-friendly materials to ensure that our art pieces have minimal impact on the environment. Artist Anne Wiziack specifically works with 100% cotton paper and fabric for the creation of her original paintings.

Inks: Anne Wiziack uses watercolour, water-based acrylics, and natural inks that she developed using vegetables, flowers, berries, and food waste like onion skins. This innovation not only adds a unique touch to her art but also reduces the use of harmful chemicals.

Prints Made to Order: To avoid waste, our art prints, which are copies of the original paintings, are made to order. We use Gelato - products are made and shipped where the customers are, speeding up delivery times and making our business more reliable. Because our products are made locally and on demand, waste, transportation distances, and carbon emissions are slashed.

Our Actions

As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and support environmental initiatives, we are proud to partner with Ecologi. As the UK's leading climate platform, Ecologi has projects across the globe that align with our mission to create a sustainable future for all.

Positive Impact: Planet InBalance - 2026

Planet InBalanceis a climate-focused collection of original paintings exploring the fragile equilibrium between nature and the accelerating impacts of climate change.

The mini exhibition was presented inside the historicCotton Exchangein Liverpool from8 June to 12 June 2026.

A key aim ofPlanet InBalanceis to transform awareness into action. In support of this, a portion of profits from artwork sales contributes to climate projects through Ecologi, specifically funding Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) initiatives, which help protect forests and biodiversity while avoiding carbon emissions.

Positive Impact from the Mini Exhibition:

  • Supported global climate action through contributions to REDD+ forest protection projects
  • 1 tonne of CO₂e avoided
  • Raised awareness of biodiversity loss and climate change through immersive visual storytelling
  • Promoted sustainable art practices using recycled, natural, and low-impact materials
  • Engaged visitors in conversations around conservation and environmental responsibility

Positive Impact: Echoes of Brasil - 2025

My first solo exhibition, Echoes of Brasil, was more than a celebration of art — it was a space to spark reflection, inspire action, and give back to the communities and ecosystems that shaped my creative journey.

Held in Liverpool from 28 May to 21 June 2025, the exhibition invited visitors to explore Brasil’s rich cultural and natural heritage through themes of sustainability, diversity, and indigenous knowledge. Over 200 people joined this immersive experience, connecting with visual art, Brazilian music, and interactive storytelling.

But the impact extended far beyond the gallery walls.

Through Echoes of Brasil, a portion of all artwork sales was donated to two impactful organisations in Brazil:

  • Bolsa ORO, which promotes sustainability through a circular economy model, transforming plastic waste into new materials and creating green jobs in local communities. Thanks to this partnership, around 49kg of plastic waste was removed from the environment.
  • Instituto Socioambiental (ISA), a leading organisation defending Brazil’s biodiversity and the rights of indigenous peoples, quilombolas, ribeirinhos, and other traditional communities.

Climate Commitment

We clean up after ourselves

Ecommerce deliveries have a carbon footprint. That's why we support cutting-edge companies that remove carbon from the air.

Together, participating businesses have…

  • Removed thousands of tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere
  • Provided carbon-neutral shipping on more than ten million orders

Here's how it works: For every order we receive, a formula is used to calculate the estimated shipping emissions. Based on those estimates, a portion of our revenue goes to carbon removal companies that have been vetted by scientists from Carbon Direct. Those companies use that money to remove however much carbon our shipments created. Any extra funds go toward the further development of carbon removal technologies.

Let's meet a few of the companies removing our shipping emissions.
